What are Grade Exams?

Grade Exams are a series of exams that measure a dancer’s proficiency in Irish dancing. It is NOT a competition. Each dancer is scored based on their own performance. There are 12 Grade Exams that go from the basic beginner steps through championship level steps. Some include traditional sets and ceili dancing. Grade Exams were designed to give dancers an opportunity to demonstrate their skills in a non-competitive environment and receive individualized feedback.
