The Rochester Academy Parent Association
The Rochester Academy Parent Association is an official 501(c)(3) that was formed to raise money to support the activities of the students of the Rochester Academy.
Background
December 2016/January 2017: Rochester Irish Dance Parent Association, Inc. was formed as a New York not-for-profit corporation. The initial directors and officers of the Parent Association were Ali Hoy (President), Sue LeStrange (Treasurer) and Dawn McGinnity (Secretary). Ali, Sue and Dawn spent the next few months working on administrative matters, such as opening a bank account, applying for federal 501(c)(3) status, New York State sales tax exemption etc.
May 2017: Meeting held to solicit input from parents and interest on sitting on the Board or volunteering on committees.
2017/2018: The Board and volunteers worked on various fundraisers and initiatives (see below).
May 2018: The Board officially appointed the following individuals to the Board of Directors. The new Board members appointed had expressed interest in response to the 2017 informational meetings and represent a variety of competitive Irish dance levels.
